God especially values the little people. They are the buttresses of his kingdom. They don’t make headlines, but they do make things happen.
Humility rests in the control of God over all events, delights in the divine generosity to provide all things necessary for life and godliness, and draws upon the power of the Spirit for body, mind, and heart.
Without lowliness of heart there will only be loneliness in relationships, for selfishness shuts down the capacity to relate. Humility opens the door to meaningful interactions.
We need the balanced humility that refrains, on the one hand, from proud arrogance and empty boasting and, on the other hand, from discounting the grace and power of God at work in his people.
