God desires to be glorified in and through the #church. He will glorify himself through it, or in spite of it, if it does not obey and serve him.
The world is warped and twisted. The world must not be allowed to enter the church of God.
The church can be defined in large part by what it does. “… the church offered earnest prayer to God for him” Acts 12.5 CEB.
The saints you can count on are those who don’t stay away from their spiritual family except when physically incapacitated. All others are motivated by convenience, not by discipleship.
“… the very reason the law of Christ existed—just as the law of Moses existed—was to create a community of love (see on [Gal] 5:14).” —Don Garlington, Shorter Commentary on Galatians, 174.
God gives grace and strength in his church. Are any of us so strong that we can forgo what he gives there?
Denominational structures are held together by power. So people often ask how the Lord’s church can function without a headquarters that gives congregations instructions. The church of Jesus Christ is united by love for God, for his word and will, for his people. Their relationship to God gives them a commitment to and interest in all of the family of faith.
