Once we are enlivened by God’s word, we ourselves become able to enliven others by that same word. The power of the Spirit that stirs in us emanates outward through our words and actions to transform those ready to receive him. Let us be aware of those willing to know God’s word and open to his power, that we might concentrate our efforts to bring forth living fruit in his kingdom.
The best and broadest appeal that one can make to others is the #Bible and the Bible alone. All others include human opinions and conclusions that are open to discussion. Religion is divisive; the Bible unifies. Its presence rises above man’s smallness to sweep everyone into the immensity of divine #love and purpose.
We must reason with others as Paul did: “from the Scriptures” Acts 17.2-3. With an open Bible. Explaining and proving. This implies knowledge of God’s word. Jesus’ followers are nothing if not good students of the Bible.
Teaching Scripture is a blessed activity. It was in Jehoshaphat’s day, and still is in ours. “In the third year of his reign he sent his officials Ben Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah to teach in the cities of Judah” 2 Chr 17.7 NET.
My goal is to be everything the Lord says he wants me to be, in Scripture, and nothing he would not have me be. This then would be the sum of faithfulness.
