When you speak, pray, or read in thees and thous, you give people reason to believe that you’re offering something that has no relevance today.
The parable of the tares represents the final judgment. God leaves all mankind and even his church for Judgment Day. This does not diminish the need for discipline within the church. In fact, it becomes a greater need, if possible. Whoever uses this parable to justify inaction is either woefully naive or maliciously sowing more tares.
Christ as Lord is both positional and functional. Not only was he exalted as Lord in glory, but he functions as the final authority. So the confession “Jesus is Lord” means that a person must not only acknowledge his position, but respect his function by submitting to his commands. So for him to be our Lord and Savior, it must be in this order.
